The terms for this website.
Effective October 21, 2026
These terms cover your use of legroomcompany.com, run by The Legroom Company LLC ("Legroom", "we"). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use it.
Client work is a separate agreement
Nothing on this site is an offer or a contract. Work for a client starts only when both sides sign a Proposal and Order Form, which carries our Standard Terms. If anything here conflicts with a signed agreement, the signed agreement wins. A free breakdown call carries no obligation on either side.
Information, not advice
What you read here is general information about running a business. It is not legal, tax, accounting or financial advice, and it is not a promise of any result. Every number on the site says where it came from: Measured means we saw it, Industry average means someone else published it, Estimated means we worked it out, and Unknown means nobody has measured it yet. Estimates are estimates. Check anything important with someone who knows your situation.
Who owns what
The writing, design and code on this site are Legroom's. You are welcome to link to any page and to quote a short passage with credit. Photographs, video, logos and other work by other people belong to them and are shown with credit. If something of yours is here and you want it credited differently, changed or taken down, email jd@legroomcompany.com and we will deal with it promptly.
Using the site
Please do not use the forms to send spam, try to break or overload the site, scrape it in a way that slows it down for others, or pretend to be someone you are not. We may block anyone who does.
Other sites
We link to sources and to other people's work so you can check them. We are not responsible for what those sites say or do.
No warranty, limited liability
The site is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and running, but we do not guarantee that it always will be. To the extent the law allows, Legroom is not liable for indirect or consequential losses from using the site, and our total liability for anything arising from your use of the site, as opposed to a signed client agreement, is limited to $100.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Any dispute about the site goes to the state or federal courts in King County, Washington.
Changes and contact
If these terms change, the date at the top changes too. Questions go tojd@legroomcompany.com. How we handle your details is on theprivacy page.
