This page covers legroomcompany.com. It is run by The Legroom Company LLC ("Legroom", "we"), a Wyoming company at 30 N Gould St, Sheridan, WY 82801. Questions go to jd@legroomcompany.com, and a person answers.

The short version

We collect what you give us and what it takes to run a website. We use it to reply to you and to see what is working. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising. Ask and we will delete it.

What we collect

  • When you write to us or ask for a breakdown: your name, email, website and message, which form you used, when, and your browser's user agent (the line a browser sends saying what it is).
  • When you subscribe to new posts: your email, the page you signed up on, when, the exact consent wording you agreed to, your browser's user agent, and a one-way scramble (a hash) of your IP address. The hash lets us stop abuse without keeping the address itself.
  • When you book a call: the booking runs on Cal.com, which receives what you type into it. Cal.com's own privacy policy covers that part.
  • When you browse: Google Analytics records the pages you visit, how you got here, your device and your rough location, using cookies. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, handles your IP address to deliver pages and block attacks, and its Turnstile check tells people from bots on our forms.
  • Embedded video and posts: YouTube and Instagram content on the blog loads only when you click it. From that click, those companies' policies apply.

What we use it for

  • Replying to you, and the one follow-up we promise if we have not heard back.
  • Sending one email when a new post is up, if you subscribed.
  • Keeping the site and its forms secure.
  • Understanding which pages help people, so we can make them better.

We do not sell your information, rent it, or use it to target ads.

Who handles it for us

A few companies process information on our behalf, only to provide their service to us:

  • Cloudflare: hosting, our database, security and bot checks.
  • Google: our email and the spreadsheet we work from, and Google Analytics.
  • Resend: sending the emails our site sends.
  • Cal.com: scheduling.

We will also share information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

  • Messages and client records: while we are working together, then as long as tax and legal records require.
  • Subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
  • The counters that limit how often a form can be sent: they delete themselves within an hour.
  • Analytics: for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account, then Google deletes it.

Your choices

  • Email jd@legroomcompany.com to get a copy of what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. We answer within 30 days, usually much sooner.
  • Unsubscribe any time. Reply to any of our emails or write to us, and every update email carries an unsubscribe link.
  • Turn off analytics cookies in your browser settings, or with Google'sAnalytics opt-out add-on.

Children

This site is for business owners. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Security

We use the protections our providers offer, keep access to the people who need it, and never ask for passwords by email. No system is perfect, and if something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes too. If a change matters to subscribers, we will email them before it takes effect.
